Who We Are
Great architecture is never the work of one person alone. At Michael Taylor Architects, our team brings together diverse experience in planning, design, project management, documentation, and construction coordination to create spaces that are both beautiful and highly functional.
Rooted in Prescott, Arizona, and serving communities throughout the state, we believe successful projects come from strong relationships, thoughtful problem-solving, and a commitment to excellence from the earliest ideas through final completion.
In June of 2025, ownership and operations transferred to Colin Lovdahl, while Michael Taylor remains an integral part of the team’s daily project activities.
Meet Our Team
Michael Taylor - Founding Architect
Michael is a 46-year Prescott resident and a product of Yavapai College. His entire career has been providing high-level, client-centered architectural services in Yavapai County and throughout Arizona. Registered as an architect in 1990, Michael began the journey towards opening Michael Taylor Architects in 1996 while working for other firms in the area. Although the firm has transitioned to second-generation ownership with Colin Lovdahl at the helm, Michael remains actively involved in the practice and remains connected with clients and projects as needed.
Outside the office Michael is an avid mountain biker, dirt bike rider and enjoys moto-camping in the far reaches of the western U.S.
Colin Lovdahl - Principal Architect
Colin Lovdahl brings nearly four decades of architectural expertise, hands-on construction knowledge, and a deep commitment to thoughtful design to Michael Taylor Architects. He earned his degree in Architecture in 1990 and became licensed in 1993. He holds licenses in Arizona, North Dakota (inactive), and Minnesota (inactive).
Throughout his career, Colin has worked with multiple architectural firms while also gaining valuable experience as a General Contractor. This dual background delivers practical, field-informed solutions that enhance project execution, constructibility, and long-term performance, particularly valuable in complex commercial work. Colin has broad experience across commercial project types and is dedicated to continuing the firm’s legacy of quality design and client service established by Michael Taylor in 1996.
In 2014, Colin and his wife Shannon moved to Prescott, drawn to the area’s unique character and natural beauty. They have embraced the region’s varied outdoor opportunities ever since.
Thom Greenwood - Project Architect
Thom earned his master's in architecture from Montana State University in 2011. Additionally, he also holds bachelor's degrees in Genetics, Biochemistry, and Architecture. He is a licensed Architect in Montana and Arizona. As Senior Project Architect, Thom has extensive experience in high-end residential architecture, large scale commercial and industrial projects. His love of Southwestern Spanish residential architecture is one of the reasons that Thom relocated to Prescott from Montana in 2026.
Thom and his wife April love to go on road trips to obscure locations in Arizona and explore all corners of the state with their two Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Disco and Ziti.
Rubi Marinelarena - Project Manager
Rubi is a 2001 graduate of Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo, with a professional Bachelor's degree in Architecture and Environmental Design. She has extensive experience across a diverse range of project types, including multifamily residential, senior and independent living, mixed-use, hospitality, interiors, and tenant improvements. She works to translate design concepts into thoughtful, code-compliant buildings. With more than two decades of experience, she approaches each project with a balance of technical precision, collaboration, and practical problem-solving to support high-quality architectural outcomes.
When not in the office, Rubi enjoys exploring new places with family, traveling, attending concerts, painting or water coloring, and most of all being in nature.
Jennine Wolf - Project Lead
Jennine is from Phoenix, AZ and graduated in 2020 from Scottsdale Community College with an AAS in Architectural Technology. She moved to Prescott to join MTAI in July of 2022. Since joining the team, she has decided to pursue her architectural license. She is currently working on taking the ARE exams to become a licensed Architect.
In her free time, she loves tap dancing, off-roading, going to the gym, and spending time with family.
Mónica Martinez - Associate
Mónica, an Arizona native, graduated from Northern Arizona University in the spring of 2022 with a BS in Interior Design and a minor in Community Design. Her previous roles include being an Architectural Designer in Tempe, Arizona and Design Assistant during her internship in Barcelona, Spain.
When Mónica isn’t in the office she enjoys hammocking in the forest, traveling abroad, kick boxing and thrifting.
Carson Feddema - Associate
Carson is a native of Prescott, AZ and attended both Yavapai College and Scottsdale Community College, where he played collegiate baseball. He studied Architectural Technology and is continuing his education while building hands-on experience here at MTAI.
Outside of the office, Carson enjoys playing golf and spending time outdoors.
Rebecca Feddema - Office Manager
Rebecca grew up in the Prescott area. While attending Yavapai College, she first came to work for MTAI in 2001 as an Administrative Assistant. Rebecca now oversees the day-to-day office operations and is dedicated to assisting our staff and clients.
You'll likely find her cheering on the sidelines at one of her kids' sporting events when she's away from the office.
